Baybay & Baybee: Week 80 (2/13-2/19)

80 weeks old!

We started out the week with a check-up for Maya and Ella at NAP (Northampton Area Pediatrics), followed by the first HooteNanny of the season!

The waiting room at the doctor's office is always the best part of the visit.

HooteNanny!

Maya and Ella are still getting up very early in the morning. They are also still taking two naps during the day. We have been wondering when they might decide to move to one nap, but they just don't seem ready yet. A couple times recently, one or the other has stayed awake for a nap while the other slept. I go to check on them and find the awake one quietly sitting up in their bed playing with their socks or doggies.

In the early morning, Maya and Ella usually come into bed with us and I nurse them and we all cuddle for a while. Often some of us will fall back asleep. Ella, especially, is the sleepyhead of the family.  One morning this week, we had all been up for a couple hours before Ella finally woke up and decided to join us.

We got some more snow a couple times, but nothing like the big storm last week. It is pretty to see the ground covered with fresh white snow. I will admit though, I'm getting tired of all the clothes: boots, hats, gloves, snowsuits, etc.  It's a lot of pieces to get on (and off) two little ones.

Early morning calm.

Hi, Ella!

Trailer # 7 in off-duty hours.

This is how our stroller walks end up most of the time.

Bike rides are fun, even in the snow!

On Saturday, Brett took the girls to visit Spartan, Hannah and Max. I stayed home and rested. I was having a tough day and it was good to have some time alone. I missed seeing everyone, but I got to take a much needed nap and clean up the whole house.

Spartan, Maya and Ella making some music.

Out for a walk.

This was one of Max's first walks on his own feet (Hannah usually has him in an Ergo). He only learned to walk around Christmas.

A few other exciting things this week: Selena came over for a visit, Maya learned how to say her name (or at least the first part of it), and, Ella signed "share" to Maya! Maya was playing with crayons, putting them from one container into another. Ella wondered over and wanted some crayons. Maya got upset and tried to stop Ella from taking any crayons. Ella looked at Maya and signed, "share" - and Maya did! It was a very Proud Mama Moment for me.

Reading books together.

"Boo!"

While Ella was sleeping in, Maya and Dada made raspberry pancakes for breakfast!

Ella signs "work" as they watch Brett get ready to ride off with the trailer for Pedal People.

Every once in a while Maya takes a longer nap than Ella.  Here Ella enjoys the whole bowl of popcorn all to herself--a rare treat indeed for a twin.

Climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor apartment while Merry and Evan are away to help feed Mocha the cat.

A style all her own.

We ended the week with visit to Leyden. Both girls wore underwear instead of diapers the whole time (and whole rest of the day!) with only one accident which happend after we got home. Though we rarely use diapers at home anymore (except for naps and night) we've only recently started forgoing them while out and about. It feels scary to go without diapers while out, but so far so good.

Ella, climbing on the potty chair at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This is the same potty that Brett used when he was a toddler!

Playing with toys.

I will leave you this week with some bonus pictures of two silly-sillies in the bath!

Necklaces in the bath!

That's one way to wear it...

Hah!

"Look at me! Look at me!"

"I'm wearing my necklace, too!"

Ta-da!
