Baybay & Baybee: Week 116 (10/23-10/29)

116 weeks old!

It's been so nice to have a break from guests staying upstairs. We only had one guest this week, for a couple nights over the weekend. Mama and Papa arrive on the 30th and then we don't have anyone else booked until after they leave on the 9th of November! We've gotten to use the space a bunch this week and the relief of not having to worry about noise has been so relaxing.

A lovely block structure left by our last guests of the week.

Mira made ginger cookies with Maya and Ella on Tuesday while Brett and I got to escape to the upstairs.

They decorated the cookies with sprinkles!

Sleep seems like it has been a little better, but we still have a couple wake-ups in the night from one, if not both girls. We've hasn't been so worried about the noise at night this week, so we've been able to stick more easily to what we want (having them stay/sleep in their own room) when they cry and want to come sleep with us in the night.

Preserving leaves with Modge Podge.

Watching a video and having a snack.

Standing on chairs to get a better look at what I put up on the shelf.

Handing down crayons to her sister.

Ella doing some building with Legos.

Maya helping get the coconut out of its shell.

Playing in their toy box.

There were some fun things and a few accomplishments this week. On Saturday, we went to Jackson's birthday party, and on Monday Aunt Anne came to visit. The girls and I made a pumpkin pie (our first one this year) and Brett took the fencing down from around our new garden so we can expand it.

Maya and Ella patiently wait for their piece of cake at the birthday party. Happy three years, Jackson!

Eating lunch with Aunt Anne. In this picture, Ella is teaching her great aunt the sign for "mama".

Aunt Anne made an apple pie and brought it for us to eat! She carved E and M into it before we ate it.

Some late birthday gifts were opened this week, and immediately played with (the pizza sets).

Ella and Aunt Anne playing upstairs with some of the toys.

Ella reading a book to Aunt Anne.

Aunt Anne reading a book to Maya and Ella.

Brett reading the books that Aunt Anne gave to Maya and Ella for their birthday.

Rolling up the garden fence. The next project will be turning the garden.

A treat for Maya after a grocery shopping trip.

And a treat for Ella.

  1. What fun! So much baking and making of goodies to eat. Books to read, friends and family to spend time with. No wonder Maya and Ella are such happy girls.
